On Friday, June 19th,Hoag Orthopedics hosted our virtual 5th Annual Orthopedic Fellowship Research Day lead by Course Director Dr. David Gazzaniga of Hoag Orthopedic Institute. Over 100 virtual attendees heard from Distinguished Visiting Professor Dr. Richard Hawkins, Founder of and Fellowship Program Director at Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas, and Chairman of the Hawkins Foundation. Dr. Hawkins delivered an engaging presentation, “The Journey Through Life and Orthopaedics,” recognizing the importance of learning and progress in life as well as social support in healthcare, and identifying keys to success in personal and professional growth in medicine. Our graduating fellows gave special case reviews and presentations of their own work and research investigations to their peers, attending surgeons, and our guest speaker.

Event Description:

We are delighted to have Dr. Richard Hawkins, Founder of the Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas, Program Director at the Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas Fellowship Program, and Chairman of the Hawkins Foundation, as this year’s Distinguished Visiting Professor. Join us as our graduating fellows deliver special case reviews and presentations of their work and research investigations to their peers and attending surgeons. Our guest speaker, Dr. Hawkins, will also deliver a presentation on “The Journey Through Life and Orthopaedics.”

Research Day is the culmination of the fellowship year and an important event where we highlight the tremendous work our fellows have accomplished during their training. We plan to host this event following reccommended health department guidelines and it will be presented virtually for guests to join.

We invite you to celebrate with us near or far.
