Sopida Andronaco joined Hoag Orthopedic Institute in 2012 and is the Director
of Performance Improvement and Clinical Outcomes. In her current role
she aims to improve and sustain superior clinical outcomes, while minimizing
costs. Ms. Andronaco oversees performance improvement initiatives, patient
satisfaction, patient outcomes, infection prevention and Centers for Medicare
and Medicaid Services quality reporting. She facilitates HOI’s multidisciplinary
Performance Improvement Committee to spearhead an innovative model for
value - driven healthcare.
She has worked with national organizations such as California Joint Replacement
Registry (CJRR), American Joint Replacement Registry (AJRR), Institute
for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) and Harvard Business School.
She holds a Master of Nursing with an emphasis in Nursing Education. She
has over 7 years of experience as an educator. She holds a certificate
in Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Principles of Teaching Adult Learners.
She has over 20 years in healthcare in various rolls. She trained at LAC+USC
Medical Center as an operating room nurse. In her nursing career she has
worked in the gastro - intestinal endoscopy suite, post - anesthesia care
unit, obstetrics and pediatrics. Leadership roles include being an Operating
Room and GI Supervisor, Nurse Manager with oversight over a medical surgical
floor and ICU for a long - term acute care facility. Other leadership
roles include implementing the American College of Surgeons National Surgical
Quality Improvement Program, Assistant Administrator for the Anesthesia
Department and HOI lead for the IHI Joint Replacement Learning Community.
