Jennifer Mitzner is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Hoag Orthopedic
Institute, one of the highest ranked orthopedic specialty hospitals in
the United States. Hoag Orthopedic Institute (HOI) consists of a specialty
hospital in Irvine and three ambulatory surgery centers in Southern California.
A veteran health care executive, Ms. Mitzner has served on the HOI Board
of Directors since its inception.
Ms. Mitzner previously served as the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial
Officer (CFO) of St. Joseph Hoag Health (SJHH), a Southern California
integrated network created by the affiliation of St. Joseph Health (SJH)
and Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian. In this role, she oversaw the
financial performance of SJHH and the Southern California region of SJH,
to include acute, ambulatory, professional, and other businesses within
the network and the Southern California Region. She also provided strategic
financial leadership for the organization’s population health-based
strategies, business model development as well as contracting and network
development in the region.
Previous to those positions, Ms. Mitzner served as Senior Vice President
Corporate Services & CFO at Hoag overseeing all finance related operations,
network development and managed care contracting, treasury, human resources,
marketing, legal, compliance, materials management, and revenue cycle
operations. She also served in an executive capacity on a number of governance
committees, including the Finance Committee, the Audit & Compliance
Committee, and the Investment Management Committee of the Board of Directors
of Hoag and the Hoag Foundation Finance and Audit Committee. Prior to
joining Hoag, Ms. Mitzner was with KPMG in Orange County, California,
in the Healthcare Advisory Practice.
Ms. Mitzner received her Master of Public Administration degree from the
University of San Francisco and Bachelor of Business Administration, with
a major in Accounting from Texas Christian University, and is a Certified
Public Accountant.
Ms. Mitzner is a member of numerous professional organizations and a past
member of the Board of Directors for Share Our Selves (SOS) - a nonprofit,
volunteer based organization serving the impoverished and working poor
populations of Orange County, California.
